Last March I visited New York on a University organized trip. I saw many famous awe inspiring buildings such as Grand Central Station and The Empire State Building. There was one in particular which stood out to me. That building was The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA).
I have visited many art galleries in the past, this one in particular stands above the rest. It showcased a large eclectic collection of historical artists such as Monet, Picasso and Van Gough.
Cutting-edge art was also being exhibited, such as, new technology, animation and computer aided design. A piece of graffiti art created by a computer controlled spray can was of particular interest.
There was something exciting around every corner from many different eras. Many art galleries have made me feel that the art world is slightly living in the past, MOMA embraces everything new and vibrant in the art and design world, also keeping the artistic greats that we still appreciate today.
What was inside was not all that interested me, the buildings layout also teased my curiosity. Many galleries all full of large rooms which just feel empty and silent. The rooms in the MOMA were smaller allowing me digest it all slowly in a high energy environment.
